SOUTHMONT Game Time: 7:30 p.m. Place: Southmont Records: Southmont is 6-4 after beating Crawfordsville 49-7; Hamilton Heights is 3-7 after beating North Montgomery 37-23 First Meeting: Oct. 20, 1989 (Southmont won 7-3 in a sectional game) Last Meeting: Oct. 21, 2011 (Hamilton Heights won 49-12 in a sectional game) Last 10 Meetings: Series tied 1-1 Last Southmont Win: Oct. 20, 1989 Overall Series: Tied at 1-1 Games at Southmont: Hamilton Heights leads 1-0 Notes: These two schools are meeting for just the third time and all three have come in sectional play… Hamilton Heights has won two games in a row and has scored 37 points in both of those wins after not having scored more than 14 points in any of its first eight games… For the season the Huskies are averaging 14.8 points a game and are allowing 26.8… Hamilton Heights was state runner-up in 2012 losing to Indianapolis Chatard… Hamilton Heights has won seven sectional titles in its history, the last coming in 2012… Southmont has never won a sectional title… The Mounties are 19-32 in postseason play… This will be the seventh time in Southmont has made it to the second round in Coach Hannum’s 11 seasons… Only once in the past 11 years has Southmont advanced to the sectional final, that came in 2008 when the Mounties lost to North Montgomery 24-8… Hamilton Heights has a balanced attaxck rushing for 100 yards and game and throwing for 129 yards a game… Sophomore Tyler Andis has completed 60 of 112 passes for 826 yards in eight games and he has tossed eight TD passes and three interceptions, while junior Carter Campassi has completed 29 of 67 passes for 469 yards in seven games and has one touchdown and two interceptions… Sophomore Blake Webel is the leading rusher with 745 yards on 181 carries and seven of the team’s nine rushing TDs… Senior Michael Cross has 25 catches for 427 yards and a team-high four TDs. Camron Knott while Camron Knott has 20 catches for 391 yards… Southmont relies on its ground game and is averaging over 200 yards per game on the ground…. Reese VanCleave is the leading rusher with 728 yards and a team-high 12 touchdowns, while quarterback Hunter Chadwick has picked up 511 yards and five scores and Kyle Nunemaker has rushed for 425 yards…. Chadwick has completed nearly 60 percent of his passes and has thrown for 700 yards and eight scores… The winner of this game will play the winner of the Brebeuf and Blackford game.
