WESTERN BOONE VS. SOUTHMONT Game Time: 7 p.m. Place: Southmont Records: Southmont is 4-2 (3-1) after losing to Danville 48-7; Western Boone is 5-1 (4-0) after beating beating Frankfort 51-0 First Meeting: Oct. 11, 1985 (Southmont won 14-9) Last Meeting: Sept. 9/10, 2016 (Western Boone won 23-7) Last 10 Meetings: Western Boone leads 6-4 Last Southmont Win: Oct. 7, 2011 when Southmont won 32-27 Overall Series: Western Boone leads 25-11 Games at Southmont: Western Boone leads 10-7 Notes: These two schools are meeting for just the 37th time… Western Boone has won the last six meetings… The Stars own the longest winning streak in the series winning nine straight from 1992 through 1998… Prior to this current six-game winning streak by the Stars, Southmont had ran off five wins in a row… A total of 13 of the previous 36 meetings have been decided by eight points or less… These teams have met five times in the sectional with Western Boone owning a 4-1 advantage… Southmont quarterback Hunter Chadwick is still completing better than 70 percent of his passes as he has completed 29 of 41 (70.7 percent) for 468 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions… Reese VanCleave leads the team in rushing with 423 and eight touchdowns, while Chadwick is close behind at 401 yards and four scores… Southmont is averaging 209 yards rushing on the season… The Mounties have turned the ball over 11 times and the defense has come up with 12 takeaways… Western Boone sophomore Spencer Wright has had a great season so far completing 89 of 152 passes for 1,094 yards, 11 touchdowns and just two interceptions… Ryan Solomon is the Stars’ top rushers as he has picked up 487 yards and eight TDs… The Stars are averaging 186 through the air and 143 on the ground… Western Boone has turned the ball over just five times while the defense has came up with 13 takeaways.
