WESTERN BOONE VS. NORTH MONTGOMERY Game Time: 7 p.m. Place: North Montgomery Records: North Montgomery is 1-3 (0-2 in SAC) after losing to Lebanon 63-27; Western Boone is 3-1 (2-0) after beating Tri-West 35-34 in OT First Meeting: Sept. 16, 1977 (North Montgomery won 7-0) Last Meeting: Sept. 30, 2016 (Western Boone won 22-14) Last 10 Meetings: Series tied at 5-5 Last North Montgomery Win: Oct. 10, 2014 when North Montgomery won 8-0 Overall Series: North Montgomery leads 31-17 Games at North Montgomery: North Montgomery 18-10 Notes: These two schools are meeting for the 49th time which is tied for the second most games against an opponent (North has already played Southmont 49 times)… North Montgomery gave up a school-record 63 points last week in its loss to Lebanon… Prior to the 63 points, the most points allowed by the Chargers in a game was 62 against Tri-West in the 2005 season… There have been 12 shutouts in the series as each team has recorded six… One of the wins for Western Boone came as a forfeit as the Chargers beat the Stars 42-10 on the field in 1985 but later had to forfeit that game… North Montgomery dominates the series early on winning 17 of the first 22 meetings… North Montgomery’s Collin Knecht leads the conference with 824 yards passing and has completed 55 of 97 passes for six TDs and three interceptions… Western Boone’s Spencer Wright has completed 55 of 97 for 620 yards and five scores and just one INT… Kade Kobel is the third leading receiver in the conference and the Charger sophomore has 17 catches (second most in the conference) for 262 yards… Both teams have excellent kicks. North Montgomery’s Corbin Osborne is a perfect 3 for 3 in FG attempt with his longest being 32 yards, while Western Boone’s Solomon Huckstep is 3 of 5 with a long of 40 yards.
