Southmont Hall of Fame Class of 2017 Announced

NEW MARKET - After a nominating process and then voting by the current members of the Southmont Athletic Hall of Fame the inductees for the Class of 2017 have been selected and announced. This will be the fifth class to be inducted into the Southmont Athletic Hall of Fame.

The ceremony will take place at Southmont High School beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30.

Members to be inducted this year are:

INDIVIDUAL INDUCTEES FOR 2017: Dan Booth ( Class of 1973) - Lettered in football, basketballl and baseball Kyle Boots (Class of 2001) - Lettered in wrestling Angie (Flick) Brown (Class of 1986) - Lettered in cross country, basketball and track & field Don Martin (Class of 1987) - Lettered in football, basketball, track & field A.J. Melvin (Class of 1988) - Lettered in football, basketball and baseball Brittany (Sayler) Roth (Class of 2003) - Lettered in volleyball and swimming Lisa (Acton) Sonnega (Class of 1981) - Lettered in Volleyball, basketball and track & field Kenyon Utterback (Class of 1997) - Lettered in Football, basketball and track & field

The induction ceremony will once again take place at Southmont High school. The schedule of events that night will include: 5 p.m. - Tour of Facilities 6 p.m. - Catered Dinner in the Southmont Cafeteria 7 p.m. - Recognition in the Southmont Auditorium

The cost of the tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for those 18 and under. Tickets will be $20.00 for adults. All family and friends are welcome. Tickets may be purchased by contacting Aaron Charles at Southmont High School.
