Crawfordsville lost to Greencastle 10-0; West Vigo lost to North Central (Farmersburg) 22-18 First Meeting: Nov. 8, 1985 (West Vigo won 24-23 in the sectional) Last Meeting: Aug. 26, 2016 (West Vigo won 27-14) Last 10 Meetings: West Vigo has won 8 of 10 Last Crawfordsville Win: Oct. 19, 2007 when Crawfordsville won 36-0 in sectional play Overall Series: West Vigo leads 11-5 Games at West Vigo: West Vigo has won 6 of 8 Notes: Eight of the 16 games played in this series have been sectional showdowns with West Vigo having won five of the eight meetings… Only two of the 16 previous meetings have been decided by a touchdown or less with Crawfordsville coming up on the short end of both of those decisions… The last Crawfordsville win at West Vigo came on Oct. 19, 2007 when it won 36-0… The 36-point win in that game is the widest margin of victory in the series for the Athenians… Crawfordsville has started the season 0-1 in seven of the last 10 seasons… Crawfordsville has won the second game of the season just twice in the last 10 years… Despite the loss in the opener the 10 points allowed were the fewest points allowed since it gave up seven points to Cascade in the opener on in 2015 (a span of 20 games)… The shutout was the second in a row for the Athenians as they fell 14-0 in the sectional to end last year.
